V The City Piranha's 5-2 (9/05)

Our first win of the season, in an exciting, high energy game. Three goals from Ewan, an own goal and an absolute scorcher from Grace to finish off the scoring. The Zebra's defended excellently, and all the team had obviously learned the lessons from practice. The "Player of the day" award went to Grace, and we all want to find out what she had for breakfast to produce such a rocket of a shot!

Interview with Grace - Player of the Day 9/05.
Q1 - How did it feel to score such a great goal?

laugh, "Good"!!!!

Q2 - What do you think of the Zebra team shirts? If you could choose any colour for the team shirt what would it be?

I like the black and white, they go together quite well.

Q3 - Have you been playing football for long? Does anyone in your family play?

I haven't been playing for that long and sometimes my brother and father play with me.

Q4 - Next week the Zebra's play the Tahuna Gunners, can you predict the score?

We will win by 4-3!!!

Tahuna Zebra's V City Sonics 02/05 (4-10)

The season is underway, and despite scoring 4 goals, and an excellent team performance by all, we ended up on the losing side on this encounter. The Sonics look like a very good team, and used their advantage in height and speed to good effect, especially during the closing stages when they scored several unanswered goals.
The good news for Tahuna Zebra's is that every single player involved put in a tremendous amount of effort, and with some great support from the parents on the sideline, we are in for quite a season.

Interview with Ewan (Zebra Player of the Day - Match 1).

What did you think of the game today?
I feel a bit sad because we lost, but I thought the team played well.
What was the highlights of the game for you?
Scoring the last Tahuna goal.
You have already played 7th grade soccer last year, does it feel different this year?
This year my friends are playing but last year I was playing with older kids, so it feels more comfortable playing this year.
Next week you play against your friends in the Tahuna Gunners, are you looking forward to it?
Yes I am, it should be a good game.
